Any questions about whether or not Jay z and J. Cole get along or if J. Cole has actually arrived can be laid to rest. In this video for Beyonce’s Party, J. Cole literally arrives accompanied by snake and drops a fun West Indies-inflected party verse that raises his profile a few more notches.

J. Cole dropped the video for Lost Ones with the message below. Rumor has it that these are the lyrics that got Cole his record deal.

“With just a dallor and a dream, this video was shot in 2008 before I even had a record deal. 3 years later, watching it still gives me the same emotions. This is dedicated to the Lost ones.”

In a rare press release from Jay Z today, Hova congratulated J. Cole on reaching number one on the charts for his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story.   Jay also said that Cole had a great body of work, no small praise from the reigning King of Hip Hop.  Cole must be on cloud 9 right now with all the praise, adulation and commercial success, but with all due respect, he built it from the ground up.

J. Cole achieved the impossible this week when his debut album, the long awaited Cole World: The Sideline Story hit number one on the sales charts.  With over 217,825 albums sold, J. Cole is racking up some pretty impressive numbers for a rookie.  he had this message for his fans:

After much deliberation over whether or not Jay Z would appear on Roc-A-Fella artist J. Cole’s debut Sideline Story, Hova has spoken. J. Cole himself reported that the track was set to go in for mixing when Jigga himself phoned in for the engineers to hold production for another week so he could get a verse in on the dubstep heavy track called Mr. Nice Watch. With all the hype surrounding the release of J. Cole’s debut album and the drama about whether or not Jay-Z would appear has been put to rest. Straight from the mouth of J.
